Install Sesame on Linux

Pour Ubuntu 22.04 ou plus récent, et Debian 12 ou plus récent. Environ cinq minutes, avec une seule commande à taper.

Sesame est une application multi-OS disponible pour Mac, Linux et Windows.

Sesame is a cross-platform app available for Mac, Linux, and Windows.

1. Téléchargez SesameCliquez sur le bouton bleu ci-dessus : le fichier sesame.deb arrive dans votre dossier Téléchargements.
2. Download SesameClick the blue button above: the sesame.deb file lands in your Downloads folder.
3. Ouvrez un terminal dans TéléchargementsOuvrez le dossier Téléchargements, faites un clic droit dans un espace vide et choisissez Ouvrir dans un terminal.
4. Open a terminal in DownloadsOpen the Downloads folder, right-click an empty area and choose Open in Terminal.
5. InstallezTapez (ou collez) cette commande, puis Entrée, puis votre mot de passe (rien ne s'affiche quand vous le tapez, c'est normal) :

   sudo apt install ./sesame.deb

   L'installation télécharge aussi ce dont Sesame a besoin : une minute ou deux.
6. InstallType (or paste) this command, press Enter, then your password (nothing shows while you type it, that's normal):

   sudo apt install ./sesame.deb

   The installation also downloads what Sesame needs: a minute or two.
7. Ouvrez SesameCherchez Sesame dans le menu des applications. Sa fenêtre s'ouvre dans votre navigateur, et une icône Sesame apparaît en haut de l'écran, près de l'horloge.
8. Open SesameLook for Sesame in the applications menu. Its window opens in your browser, and a Sesame icon appears at the top of the screen, near the clock.
9. Debian (bureau GNOME) : affichez l'icôneGNOME n'affiche pas ces icônes tout seul. L'installation a ajouté ce qu'il faut : déconnectez-vous puis reconnectez-vous, ouvrez l'application Extensions et activez AppIndicator. Ubuntu, lui, l'affiche directement.
10. Debian (GNOME desktop): show the iconGNOME doesn't show these icons by itself. The installation added what is needed: log out and back in, open the Extensions app and turn on AppIndicator. Ubuntu shows it directly.
11. Ajoutez votre premier compteBouton Ajouter mon premier compte, puis OneDrive par exemple : connectez-vous dans le navigateur. Choisissez où mettre vos fichiers et quels dossiers copier, puis Commencer la synchronisation.
12. Add your first accountClick Add my first account, then OneDrive for example: sign in in the browser. Choose where to keep your files and which folders to copy, then Start syncing.
13. Facultatif : démarrer avec l'ordinateurRubrique Réglages, puis Lancer au démarrage.
14. Optional: start with the computerOpen Settings, then Launch at login.

Les mises à jour

Updates

Quand une nouvelle version est prête, un bandeau bleu « Nouvelle version disponible » s'affiche en haut de la fenêtre, et la même ligne apparaît tout en haut du menu de l'icône. Un clic montre les nouveautés et le bouton Mettre à jour maintenant : Linux demande votre mot de passe, puis Sesame s'installe et repart tout seul. Vos comptes et vos réglages sont conservés.

When a new version is ready, a blue “New version available” banner appears at the top of the window, and the same line appears at the very top of the icon menu. One click shows what's new and the Update Now button: Linux asks for your password, then Sesame installs and starts again on its own. Your accounts and settings are kept.

Dans un terminal : sudo apt remove sesame. Vos fichiers synchronisés restent dans leurs dossiers.

In a terminal: sudo apt remove sesame. Your synced files stay in their folders.

Version Linux toute neuve : si quelque chose cloche, dites-le-moi (rubrique « Nous écrire » de Sesame).

Brand-new Linux version: if anything goes wrong, tell me (“Write to us” in Sesame).
